NAGGW: E-Library and E-Resources Support and Maintenance

Electronic libraries aim at unhindered access to content over computer and communication networks. It allows users to read or refer any published items from their residence or office via the internet.

The project scope was to establish E-Library Solution, update the local content, support users (end users and administrative), perform administrative tasks, perform routine maintenance & monitoring tasks, troubleshoot and resolve incidents on the E-Library Resources Platform.

Office Machines Nigeria Limited was contacted to develop e-Library System for the National Green Great Wall (NAGGW). This came as a result of high level of proficiency recorded so far in the history of Office Machines.

The following summarizes the E-library deployment during the project implementation. The project was completed on schedule as planned. 

• Location Readiness: Site survey and agreements on models of equipment and methods of deployments ·        
• Network Infrastructure: 42U rack, Ethernet connectivity, router with wireless Access Points ·        
• Hardware /Software Installation:  Voltage stabilizers, UPS, All-in-one desktops, Network Printers, the 6TG E-granary Digital Library Server (with over 30 million resources in various formats in all subject including books, software, tutorial, articles, journal, websites, whole portals etc) ·        
• Training and Capacity Building: On use of the digital library, maintenance of network infrastructure, basic troubleshooting of the appliance server, developing and managing local content.
